Tourism Sustainability Plan in Destination
The Cabrales Town Council competed in the call for Territorial Tourism Sustainability Plans in Destination, submitting a proposal that was approved and included in the Territorial Tourism Sustainability Plan in Destination of the Principality of Asturias.
The Tourism Sustainability Plan in Destination (PSTD) of Cabrales pursues a sustainable tourism model that contributes to balanced territorial development, to the improvement of quality of life, and, in turn, to the conservation of natural and cultural heritage.
The Plan is committed to improving the competitiveness of the destination through training, digitization, innovation and the creation of sustainable tourism products within our territory.
An agreement was formalized between the Ministry of Presidency, Demographic Challenge, Equality and Tourism of the Principality of Asturias and the City Council of Cabrales for the implementation of the Tourism Sustainability Plan in Destination Cabrales corresponding to the Territorial Plan for Tourism Sustainability in Destination of the Principality of Asturias 2022, financed by funds from the European Union-Next Generation EU.
The specific actions foreseen in this Agreement are defined in the Territorial Plan for Sustainable Tourism in Destination of the Principality of Asturias 2022, financed by European funds under the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan (PRTR) Component 14.
The Agreement of the Sectorial Conference on Tourism states the credit allocated to the Principality of Asturias for the financing of investment actions by local entities. Thus, in relation to the Cabrales Town Council, the intervention instrument is the Tourism Sustainability Plan in Destination (PSTD), for an amount of €1,996,506.
