The Principality will invest 697,016 euros for the construction of a visitor reception area and a parking lot in Arenas de Cabrales, an action aimed at organizing mobility in one of the main accesses to the Picos de Europa National Park and to move towards a more sustainable tourism model.

The investment is articulated through an agreement between the Principality and the City Council, which was presented by the vice-president of the Principality, Gimena Llamedo, and the mayor of Cabrales, José Sánchez.

The project includes a parking lot with capacity for approximately 150 vehicles and a visitor reception area. The aim is to organize the arrival of road traffic, reduce pressure on the urban center and improve the management of tourist flows in a natural environment of high environmental value. Llamedo emphasized that the project will "provide an answer to a historical problem of access and parking in Cabrales", and will be a more orderly management that is compatible with the conservation of the park.
